Tarragon ~ "King of Herbs" 07/26/2010
In my last newsletter, I promised you a few tips on some of my favorite summertime herbs, so here goes... Tarragon is known in French cuisine as the “King of Herbs.” Which is no surprise considering its edible leaves and flowers can really kick up the flavor in chicken, salads and other dishes with a distinctive mild licorice taste. While it’s spicing up your supper this herb is also aiding your body’s digestion and detoxification processes. Tarragon promotes bile production in the liver, which in turn speeds up the body’s ability to eliminate toxins. Another cool Tarragon tip… Because of its sedative properties, tarragon tea makes it the perfect bedtime drink for insomniacs. Just pour one cup of boiling water over one tablespoon of dried leaves. Let it stand for 10 minutes and enjoy. To get your own subscription to the Wake Up Goddess newsletter, click HERE to sign up! CommentsHi Brenda,

Thank you for all of the great herb tips! I might also add that tarragon can be used to relax the muscles and reduce inflammation.
