I've decided to live the next month like a Goddess. Evey decision I make will be preceded by the question, "If I was a Goddess, what would I do?"

Living like a Goddess means different things to each of us. It's as varied as our tastes in men or shoes.

Bottom line... it doesn't matter if you aspire to be the irresistible Aphrodite or the nurturing Demeter, there's a Goddess for everyone.

All you have to do is welcome her. Be her eyes and ears in the world. Bring her pleasure and honor her silly side  just as you honor her sacredness. Welcome her into your heart and your life.

Join me this month ladies, in treating yourself like the Goddess you are  Rand the woman you're becoming every day! Remember to ask "What would Goddess Do?"

Life is cyclical. It curves and bends and folds back on itself in the most interesting patterns…

Lately, I’ve found myself revisiting some old issues dealing with the themes of balance, boundaries and empowerment. Just last year I started Wake Up Goddess so that my life would be more balanced, so that I could have healthier boundaries around work and so that I could feel empowered in what I do.

But to tell you the truth, I’ve spent the last month in a bit of a tailspin. I’ve been overbooked, overburdened and bogged down in the minutiae. Ironically, these are exactly the spiritual issues that I was teaching about in my 3-week Spirit Guided teleseminar series “Reclaiming Your Life: Body, Mind & Spirit” which ended last night.

The beauty of the spiritual process and my own spiritual path is that by hosting these virtual workshops, I was given exactly what I need to receive in the exact moment I needed it ~ simply by sharing it with others.

As I was pulling all of the spiritual tools and techniques together for my virtual workshops, I was reminded to keep using them in my own life. And then I was reminded how incredibly damn effective they are!

The results for me and my clients over this past 3-weeks have been amazing. Personally, working with my Guides in such a focused manner has helped me reconnect with my own purpose as a teacher.

The process has also helped me let go of my issues around control and spiritual “micro-management.” And because I was willing to play along, my Guides orchestrated some synchronistic events to hook me up with my very first virtual assistant (who I officially hired today!) so that I can get out of “overload” and start focusing on the BIG stuff!

So next month I’ll be rolling out some really cool, spirit-centered products, program and services that absolutely makes my soul sing (and hopefully yours too). And I’m more excited about my future, the futures of my clients and the future of my business than ever before.

Trust me, I’m living proof that when you honor your spirit the benefits will carry over into every other area of your life! Enjoy the journey (including the curves)!

Okay, so I'm way far behind on my blogs and my "to do" list is a mile long (big surprise, right?), but I couldn't let tonight pass without paying homage to the Full Moon.

Tonight is the Flower Moon and it's a perfect time to stop and smell the roses (literally and figuratively)! Take just 5 minutes tonight, go outside and cast your eyes up to the sky.

Let the beauty and fullness of the Moon wash over you and take in the energy of the Goddess. Feel her arms around you and feel her full potential penetrate your soul with her light.

Remember, the Moon is all about feminine energy, so let your hair down and take time to appreciate the sensual curves of your own Goddess body. Pick a flower from your garden and put it in your hair. Dance around under the fullness of the Moon and let your body find its groove.

If you have a partner, make love to them. If you don't have a partner, make love to yourself. But whatever you do, do it like a Goddess! ~ Enjoy!

You’ve heard me say it before… balance is an ongoing process. And all of us find ourselves a little out of kilter every now and then.

Lately, I’ve definitely been riding the rapids! I’ve overbooked myself and I haven’t been prioritizing well. And as I crowd more and more “stuff” into my day, the less time I have to honor myself by spending time on the truly important things ~ things like hot baths and long walks and watching goofy TV shows with my teenage son and making dinner with my husband.

But hosting Thursday’s Reclaiming Your Life: Body, Mind & Spirit teleseminar reminded me of just how easy it is to slide into that dark place ~ the place where you’re running ragged reacting to your world instead of flowing through it like a gentle river.

Putting together the content for this call also gave me the opportunity to pull out some of my favorite tools and to start using them again in my own life. And, not surprisingly, I'm already seeing results!
(BTW, these are the same tools I share with you in the free teleseminar and the ones we’ll explore more deeply in the 3-week virtual retreat that’s coming up soon!)

Maybe the thing I love most about being a teacher is that you can always learn from your own lessons. And that’s exactly what I’m doing now ~ taking my own advice.

If you haven’t heard the call recording from my Reclaiming Your Life: Body, Mind & Spirit teleseminar, you can listen or download it for FREE until this
Monday, May 17th. Just click here to register.

Leggo My Ego 04/15/2010

Lately I’ve had lots of people ask me, “How do I get rid of my ego when doing spiritual work.” And the honest answer is… You don’t!

I just want to take a minute to set the record straight here. Ego is not a bad thing. Ego is a part of you as vital and necessary as your liver. Within your ego is the seed of your individuality, your survival instinct and your personal drive and ambition.

That said, you’ve also gotta understand that the ego is limited within its function. Just as the liver can’t do the job of the heart, neither can the ego do the job of the spirit.

The bottom line is this… stop trying to force the ego out and instead let it do its job. Allow your ego to be moved by spirit to bring your personal and unique expression of divinity in the world. In other words, let the ego be in service to the spirit and not the other way around.

We always hear folks, especially busy, dynamic women, talk about the importance of balance... “I need to find some balance,” or “I’m so out of balance,” or “I don’t know how to balance all of this.”

But what exactly does it mean to be balanced?

I sometimes think of myself as that clown at the circus who’s got a bunch of plates precariously perched on spinning sticks trying to keep them all perfectly balanced so they don’t come crashing down around me. But in this scenario, although the plates may be balanced, the clown (me) is frazzled and, frankly, completely unable to relax because to stop for even a minute would mean disaster.

So I’ve had to rethink what the term balance means to me. Now I like to think of myself as the graceful tightrope walker who occasionally throws a few aerial tricks into the show just for fun and a little adventure. And despite the fact that the world around me is, well… a 3-ring circus, I’m focused, balanced and above the fray.

In this sense, balance isn’t something that’s achieved or accomplished because balance is a work in progress. Once minute you’re up there without a worry and the next moment you’re teetering a bit as you make your way from one end of the rope to the other. After all, the tightrope wouldn’t be any fun if you just stood in one spot trying not to fall.

And when you really think about it, what’s the worst thing that can happen? You actually DO fall. So what? This is when it pays to have a good safety net beneath you. For me, that safety net comes in the form of my loving Diva Sisters who are always willing to catch me when I fall and help me get back on my feet to claim my rightful place as an aerial ballerina above clowns, the crowds and the chaos.

The term Diva has gotten a bad rap, like the words bitch and witch and even pussy (that's right, I said it... well typed it... props to Mama Gena!).

But being a Diva is actually a good thing. In fact, all the most amazing women I know are Divas of the first order. And they've taught me to embrace and express my own inner Diva in a big way.

So let me just set the record straight by saying that Divas aren't defined as difficult women or unreasonable women. Quite the contrary...

Divas are bold and courageous, even in the face of their own fears and insecurities.

Divas are the voice of reason, even when others are unreasonable, or worse, silent.

Divas stand up for what's right, even when it's unpopular.

Divas ask for what they want without fear or apology.

Divas love with their whole hearts and know that vulnerability doesn’t make them weak, it makes them human.

Divas know when to temper their strength with compassion; they know when to rage, when to rest and when to reach out for help from others.

True Divas are women in every sense of the word ~ real women with flaws and scars and maybe even a little cellulite, none of which make them any less beautiful, sensuous or wise.

So this is a shout out to all my Diva Sisters. Don’t let the world tell you that you can’t shine. Step up and claim your right to your Divine Diva-inity today!

Love,
Michele

PS ~ Don't forget! Just one week from today I'll be launching my new 3-Week Spirit Guide Intensive Teleseminar Series. It's still not too late to reserve your spot. Click here for more information!

Monday mornings have always signaled new beginnings to me. The start of a new workweek, the start of a new diet, and the promise of a brand new me!

Problems is, as most of us know, the best of intentions can go terribly awry when a well meaning co-worker shows up with donuts, or that mandatory staff meeting goes into overtime, requiring an extra hour of my life at what should be the end of the workday (can you say weak boundaries?).

Oh well, mission for a new me abandoned, looks like it's just the same old me that's always been there. Guess I'll have to wait till next Monday for that shiny, clean, fresh start. Right?

WRONG!

I know, it sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? But that was the way I used to think. For many years I'd been an "all or nothing" girl. I was either dieting and exercising by the book (literally, diet journals and all), or going hog wild (again, I mean this literally... think bacon) waiting for Monday morning to roll around so I could "start over."

Fortunately, since I left the rat race of corporate America, I've been able to overcome a lot of those old beliefs and habits... or so I thought.

But last night, as I basked in the soft glow of the refrigerator light, and stared blissfully and hypnotically at the bags, trays and containers of delectable remnants from Saturday's Spring Equinox dinner party, I thought, "What the hell, tomorrow's Monday, I'll start over then."

And so I gave in... but not just to the temptation of empty, if not delicious, calories (no diet journal in sight) but to an old, outdated and extremely self-sabotaging pattern of thought.

Truth is, there is no shiny new me waiting on the other side of Monday. There's only me, right now; there are only the decisions I make in this very moment. And all the Mondays in the world aren't going matter if I'm not living my life fully conscious from Tuesday to Sunday.

So if I'm starting over today, it's not because it's Monday, it's because it's NOW. And, in truth, now is all we've ever really got to work with. So happy Monday everyone. May today and every day be the start of a brand new you!

Yesterday I had a mini-meltdown. Yep, that’s right. Just after 5:00 last night I sat on my girlfriend’s couch with a glass of white wine in my hand, a fuzzy blanket wrapped around my legs and a box of tissues in my lap as I let the floodgates open.

My two best Divas sat on the couch across from me with compassion in their eyes as I blubbered on about my family dramas, my business challenges and my self-doubts.

They didn’t interrupt me, they just listened. They didn’t tell me that everything was fine when we all knew damn well that it wasn’t. And they didn’t judge me when I finally broke down and allowed myself the rare indulgence of self-pity.

When the tears dried, they offered me some solid support, a new perspective on some old issues and a few inspired ideas for change. Not the usually lip service you get from people who are just trying to make you feel better ~ I’m talking the deep stuff that comes from people who truly know your soul.

And when I left their sacred company I felt a little lighter, a little freer and a little more confident than when I had arrived.

Remember ladies, the Goddess smiles on us through our vulnerability, she cleanses us through our tears and she heals us through our Divas. Viva la Diva!
