Tarragon ~ "King of Herbs" 07/26/2010
In my last newsletter, I promised you a few tips on some of my favorite summertime herbs, so here goes... Tarragon is known in French cuisine as the “King of Herbs.” Which is no surprise considering its edible leaves and flowers can really kick up the flavor in chicken, salads and other dishes with a distinctive mild licorice taste. While it’s spicing up your supper this herb is also aiding your body’s digestion and detoxification processes. Tarragon promotes bile production in the liver, which in turn speeds up the body’s ability to eliminate toxins. Another cool Tarragon tip… Because of its sedative properties, tarragon tea makes it the perfect bedtime drink for insomniacs. Just pour one cup of boiling water over one tablespoon of dried leaves. Let it stand for 10 minutes and enjoy. To get your own subscription to the Wake Up Goddess newsletter, click HERE to sign up! 3 Comments Tips to Help You Play Today 07/21/2010

Well, I did it! I went 30 days without meat and I didn’t die of protein deficiency. So now that I’ve met my 30-day challenge, you may be asking, “What next, Michele? Are you a full-fledged vegetarian?” The truth is… I don’t really know what I am. But I will say that as a result of this little experiment, I’m much more aware of what I’m eating and how it makes me feel ~ physically, mentally and spiritually. And, truth be told, I feel pretty damn good. I even think my taste buds are more alive! In the interest of full disclosure, I have to tell you I never did give up seafood (hey, a girl’s gotta know her limits). But even that was limited to about once or twice a week. For the most part, my diet consisted of veggies, fruits, healthy carbs, lots (and lots) of beans and a surprisingly tasty assortment of "tofuish" meat substitutes. And yes, I actually lost a few pounds. Although I think that probably had more to do with my newfound awareness of my body's needs than the elimination of pork, beef and chicken from my diet. I won’t lie and tell you that there weren’t times that I looked longingly at a juicy steak or coveted my husband’s chicken tacos as I sullenly ate my beans and cheese. I’m not gonna say that the smell of bacon doesn’t still turn me on, or that if someone offered me a delicious cheeseburger I wouldn’t be tempted. So I can’t tell you with 100% certainty that all tasty farm animals are safe from me from now on. The truth is, I’m just planning to listen to my body and to honor it in whatever way feels right in that moment. But one thing I can tell you is that I’m not craving meat right now. I don’t NEED meat the way I thought I would at the end of this 30 days. And that’s a great start, or finish, depending on your outlook. What Would Goddess Do (WWGD)? 07/01/2010
I've decided to live the next month like a Goddess. Evey decision I make will be preceded by the question, "If I was a Goddess, what would I do?" Living like a Goddess means different things to each of us. It's as varied as our tastes in men or shoes. Bottom line... it doesn't matter if you aspire to be the irresistible Aphrodite or the nurturing Demeter, there's a Goddess for everyone. All you have to do is welcome her. Be her eyes and ears in the world. Bring her pleasure and honor her silly side just as you honor her sacredness. Welcome her into your heart and your life. Join me this month ladies, in treating yourself like the Goddess you are Rand the woman you're becoming every day! Remember to ask "What would Goddess Do?" | Author"I am passionate about helping women overcome the chaotic demands of daily life by providing practical spiritual tools for a more balanced, joyful and empowered life."
